The Skylla series is a rod designed specifically for slow jigging, produced by Ocean Freaks.

We have taken on the challenge of slow jigging in various seas around Japan and the world. We
collected data from various places and developed a rod that can be used in any sea and with any drifting method.
That is Skylla.

The concept is “Let’s convey our passion to the jig.”

The torquey belly transmits energy to the jig while the dip
allows you to move the jig reliably under any circumstances.

The Skylla has a very soft feel when you start jerking, but then you can use the power of the belly to move the jig firmly. The rod’s power is necessary to control the jig as the angler wishes. It’s not enough to just make it fly, but if you have power, you can also make it gentle.
(Power does not equal stiffness.)

Skylla consists of 7 rods, 00-5, and 1 high pitch rod, for a total of 8 rods. Although there are some differences depending on the sea area, let us introduce the selection criteria. Skylla series No. 0 is basically set to operate jigs of around 200g. The
No. 1 above that is for around 300g. No. 2 is 400g, No. 3 is 500g, No. 4 is 600g, No. 5 is 700g, and the High Pitch SD53 is aimed at high pitch and deep sea jigging. The No. 00 below No. 0 is set for light slow jigging, and can mainly operate jigs of 80-150g easily.
If the bottom can be firmly reached, it is designed to be able to move the jig without stress with the number that matches the jig.

Some people sometimes use rods that are too large for the situation, but with Skylla, it is better not to increase the number.
First of all, the sensitivity decreases as the rod number increases. Even in situations where you can reach the bottom, you may think that the rod is too soft and the jig will not move, but please understand that increasing the number is not the best solution. Especially in vertical
fishing, the difference in sensitivity is directly related to the fishing results.
Similarly, choosing the right rod for the situation is directly related to the fishing results.

Please refer to the above criteria and enjoy the pleasure of fishing for the fish you are targeting by using the jig’s movements and jerking techniques that take advantage of its characteristics.
Skylla will definitely be your strong weapon.
