Spiral X is a three-layer structure in which carbon tape is densely wound in the inner and outer layers of the rod’s vertical fibers in opposite directions. The inner and outer diagonal fibers allow for high torsional and crushing rigidity while maintaining lightness. Shimano’s unique “basic structure” improves instantaneous power transmission during fishing actions such as casting and fighting, maintains lightness, and enhances the “ground strength for catching”. In addition, the X guide is an integrated structure designed using 3D technology, achieving the shape, lightness, and strength required for a guide for a reef rod. The step with the blank is reduced, and the inclination angle that allows good line release is verified, dramatically reducing line tangles. At the same time, the rod is thoroughly lightweight, and the tip has a swing-through feeling that suppresses vibration, improving operability.
