An ISO fishing rod is a long, telescopic and often thin rod designed for a specific style of rock fishing knows as ISO fishing. This type of fishing originated in Japan and is popular in other Asian countries and Australia, targeting species like drummer, blackfish, bream and travely. The rods are engineered to be strong, lightweight and flexible, with a design that allows the rod to do much of the works of fighting the fish, making it a more elastic and exciting experiences.

ISO rod length is normally from 3.9 to 5.3 meters. Currently popular brands in Japan is Daiwa, Shimano and Gamakatsu.
