S90ML

Actually, the S90ML is a model I'm personally very attached to. Long rods offer many advantages in eging, and especially when it comes to jigging, using slack line makes the operation overwhelmingly easier. Being able to jig using slack line reduces the strain on your body, and you can fish all day without getting tired. The jig's movement itself can also be made large and relaxed, so the S90ML is ideal for targeting large bigfin reef squid in the spring, or for fishing slowly around seaweed beds and structures. In addition, the high castability that comes from utilizing the rebound force of this length and the well-bending blank is also appealing. Even with the long model, the benefits of Spiral X Core and M46X are enormous, allowing for a slender blank, which makes the casting feel very smooth. It swings so smoothly that you wouldn't think it's a 9-foot rod, and you can concentrate your power on the cast, so you can achieve good casting distance. One of the S90ML's strengths is its ability to leverage its long casting distance for wide-area searching. In terms of casting, I felt the benefits of the full X-guide system were significant. While guides usually create resistance in achieving a sharp casting feel, Shimano's unique X-guide system significantly reduces this resistance. This benefit is particularly noticeable with long rods. You might be concerned about its flexibility when a large squid bites. However, this rod successfully caught a squid weighing over 2kg during testing. From the fight to landing, there was absolutely no anxiety; in fact, it bent firmly while maintaining its resilience, allowing me to quickly reel it in. I was truly impressed by its power. I believe this rod is perfectly suited for anglers who use slack line to move the jig widely and target large squid.

Model S85ML+

This is a model that we want people who are currently using M-class rods to try. You won't feel a lack of power, and it also has the sensitivity of an ML-class rod, so you'll probably find it easier to use in deep waters and areas with strong currents that you previously handled with an M-class rod. It has the classic length and power of an eging rod, but it also performs well as a power rod for targeting large squid by allowing you to manipulate larger jigs more precisely.

While the ML model, around 8 feet 6 inches in length, is considered a basic model for eging rods, the Sephia Limited ML+, with its added strength, is classified as a power-type model suitable for tackling large squid and areas with deep waters and strong currents.
