The "Lance" is a long jig that features a straight forward action like a spear.
It does not perform a sharp horizontal long dart like the Slide Actor, but instead aims for a vertical thrust and stall. This matches the fleeing action of juvenile sand eels (giant eels) and hairtail fish, which have poor swimming ability. After stalling, it creates a "time to eat" like a stay.
Sometimes it makes the target bite with a fall posture that looks as if it is stationary without a roll action.
The rising and falling behavior that is not too violent and the stall that follows will attract any target, whether it is a slow pitch or a high pitch.
